History of
the Painting
Where has Diego's painting
been hanging?

Here is a photo showing all of the painting:

The painting, which measures 46cm by 54 cm (18 by 21inches), is still in
the frame it had in 1935, when it was hanging in the main hallway of a nice new house,
built for a factory owner, who was also a dedicated art collector. The original
owner was a founder of the main art gallery in the town where the painting has been
residing until now.
This photo from 1935 shows the painting in its original place:

The portrait by Diego Rivera
is hanging center/right in this picture from 1935. The position of the painting
makes it very visible for anyone using the main hallway to get to the living rooms
upstairs. The painting shown below, by Aage Storstein, is also prominent in the
hallway, and remains in the same collection as the Diego Rivera
painting.

The picture below is of Fredrik Kavli, who obtained the painting by Diego Rivera originally, some time before
1935. He was the founder and owner of a medium sized metallurgical factory, and was
an avid art collector, owning a fairly large collection of oil paintings.
